I'm a 49 year old man from the Netherlands, with interests in tv shows and films (lots of sci-fi), talented actresses and singers with great voices. As a fan I believe in being supportive rather than demanding or objectifying. On this blog no paparazzi pictures, no sexualized photos. If I can, I try to credit the photographer. Nowadays I mostly crosspost from other sites.

#DanielaBobadilla started a blog at https://lessonslearnedblog.com/ and I’m a little jealous. Not only does she have a lot of content of the bat, while I had an idea for a blog post a few weeks ago and haven’t started it yet, but it also looks so good…
I was 9 (same age as Dakota Fanning) when this movie came out and I watched it more times than I can count. These ladies played so well off of each other, the spinning teacup scene has me in tears even THINKING about it!
I always loved Brittany Murphy, hers was the first celebrity death that had a big emotional impact on me. I think this movie encapsulates her luminance perfectly.
(Seriously though…this came out 17 years ago? I haven’t brought myself to watch it since my mom died, and now that my dads gone too the themes of parental loss may be too much for me.)
Yeah it’s a corny early 2000’s dramedy but it’s also sad and wise and beautiful and so fucking NOSTALGIC.
Talk about a good coming of age story,
The themes woven within this plot resonate with me a lot more these days.
